- During anterior circulation runs this view allows visualization of the internal carotid artery bifurcation into the anterior and middle cerebral arteries.
- During posterior circulation runs this view also allows visualization of the vertebrobasilar junction up to the apex of the basilar artery.
To achieve this view the floor of the orbits should rest just above the superior edge, or ridge, of the petrous temporal bones.
To reach this position, the fluoroscope is rotated from the AP position in a caudal direction.
